**** NEW PRICE **** This large character property has an enviable position on a hilltop at the edge of a market town with a range of facilities. There is a feeling of calm and space as the house is surrounded by its own parkland and mature gardens. There are extensive terraces flowing from the main rooms and a sculpted walk in swimming pool. Adjacent is an extensive outbuilding which is subdivided into sections and offers many possibilities. Inside the house there is a similar feeling of light and space as each room has large windows, often on 2 walls and many also have French doors to the terraces. In the centre of the property is a large hallway used as an additional seating area on both sides of a wide central corridor which runs the length of the building and from which all the rooms can be accessed. At one end there is a stair to a vast undeveloped attic which has 6 window openings with shutters on both sides and at the other end is a stair down to the cellar which also runs the length of the building and is subdivided in a similar pattern to the rooms above it. The property has been upgraded and modernised through the years while retaining its character features. Each room has a fireplace, many are marble; most have original oak floors and the kitchen and bathrooms modern tiled floors. It is currently a little tired and would benefit from a further upgrade to realise its full potential. There is oil fired central heating throughout. The main terrace which is adjacent to the pool area has ample space for tables and chairs and loungers and off it French doors lead to a fitted dining kitchen and adjacent utility room, which houses the white goods. There are white base and wall units and black worktops and modern black floor tiles. In one corner is a fireplace with a built in BBQ area. Adjacent double doors open to the corridor and to one side another set of double doors to the L-shaped lounge and adjacent snug. French doors open to another large terrace with a pond and views over the land to the town. Opposite the kitchen is the formal dining room which shares a feature stone wall with the lounge. Further along the corridor there is a toilet and a fully tiled bathroom with twin sinks, bath, walk in shower and toilet. Opposite is the large master bedroom with feature fireplace. The central core of the property has double doors on each side, leading to the terrace in the front of the house and to the rear a grass area with views to the town. Both sides are presented as additional sitting areas with doors to bedroom 2 and 3. The bedrooms are spacious and bedroom 2 has a connecting door to bedroom 4 which has a tiled ensuite. Bedroom 3 has a sink and bidet in one corner. Adjacent is bedroom 5 which also has a sink. Towards the end of the corridor is a large dressing room with 4 double wardrobes on one wall and another double wardrobe on the facing wall. Further on is a toilet in a room large enough to be a shower room. At the end to the front of the building is an undeveloped room currently used as a store and the wooden stair to the first floor. An extensive outbuilding is close to the house and it is subdivided into several storage areas, workshop areas, garaging and stables. A separate round pigeonier sits in front of this. The property is surrounded by its own land extending to 2.4 hectares. Around the pool and terraces are borders and shrubs and a small pond with a water feature. A walk in salt pool with a further terrace is a focal point for this relaxing space.
